Difficult subject I do believe there's something we need to do starting at home.

End Zero Tolerance. Zero Tolerance policies were enacted in the early/mid 1990s. Columbine, for those that remember, was in 1999. When I was a kid in the 1980s, there weren't all these school shootings, and that's because a bully would get a good, well-deserved ass kicking by someone who had no affinity for bullies.

I hate that kids have to go through it I did when I was younger and I always stood up for the other kids being bullied

Kids need to be disciplined. Parents have gotten soft because they are afraid of getting in trouble. Start spanking your kids people. And kids today need to toughen up, they whine about everything. When I was a kid my mom took a wooden spoon to me and I turned out just fine and appreciate her for doing it

Give them a taste of their own medicine.

Exactly

Zero Tolerance policies prevent good medicine from being administered, unlike the 80s when I was in school.

both sides of parents needs to get involved. Parents need to stay into your child's life all the way to 18. Look for the signs. Forget telling the teachers, go straight to the principal. Have a meeting with the whole group together. Teach your child to stand up for himself and knock the bully out. I saw some much of these while my sons were attending...

I was bullied , I think it should start with Parents finding out why and what is bothering these kids that they feel they have to hurt someone to feel better about themselves. Unfortunately sometimes it is learned behavior from home and that is sad. That is what they have learned.

Very true these days kids learn so much from home and from other sources we need to change this fast .
