Most everyone knows the classic monsters like Dracula, the Frankenstein creature, the Wolf Man. But there are others from novels or films that are still classic, but sort of overlooked at times. Below are six, pick a buddy or add your own. Happy Halloween.

Phantom made me cry in Elementary School because I sympathize and felt sorry for the tragedy of the Phantom.

Surprised this one has never been remade. Apparently Guillermo del Toro had some interest, but Universal didn't like his take on the story, so he ended up doing The Shape of Water, which won several awards. In any case, it is rather creepy to think there is some sort of creature lurking underwater where you swim, fish or boat.

Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be popularity waves monsters go through. Right now, it's zombies, prior to that vampires were a bit thing. For a while it was werewolves.

He's the clear favorite which rather surprised me, I was really expecting the Phantom to be more known and popular, or maybe Creech. More useless trivia: The Invisible Man is a member of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a comic book. For the film, they changed his name from Jack Griffin to Rodney Skinner due to rights to the name.

Trivia you don't need to know: You may have read at some point Johnny Depp was connected to a remake of The Invisible Man. At that point Universal had plans to re-launch their classic horror films. Then The Mummy with Tom Cruise bombed, and all that got put on the back burner. Others scrapped were Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Russell Crowe, Frankenstein with Javier Bardem, and Angelina Jolie for Bride of Frank...

The Invisible Man is just a scary thing to think about.

There was well done updated variation of The Invisible Man not long ago that was a bit different in that the character created a suit that could render him invisible. In either case, yes, creepy to think of someone with that ability and no morals as to how the use it.

So do I...the idea maybe there is something out there we have yet to discover in terms of life. The film was originally shown in 3D and had two sequels. Ricou Browning plays the Creature in the water scenes. For a dude in a rubber suit, it's pretty believable at times. The tale also has a beauty and the beast aspect, the Creech having a thing for the one female member of the expedition.
