Yes, those are real. I believe they were all taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and can be found on NASA's website (or splattered across thousands of other websites on the internet.)

@Brenda, isn't it strange, yet inspiring how much random things manage to look like something familiar. Someone mentioned that the image's of the Nebula's had been "colorized" and aren't really colored at all. I suppose that is true, but who ever depicted the colors on many of them, well they sure did an amazing job of it. I don't think as humans, we would appreciate the spectacula...
