If you were/are an artist ( musical/poetic..ect ) and were asked to conform to the other artists you work with. What would you do?

For example, if you were signed to a label of some sort, and your expression of art, whether it be musical, visual or any other type of artistic expression, was brought into question by the owners of said label. They have asked you to stay in the same lane as all of the artists they have. What would you do?

If 'starving artist' is you're schtick, then walk away. If you expect to be seen and respected, you have to pay you're dues.
