No because someone on the news being interviewed made a great point. He said with all the buildings, homes & streets, there's nowhere for the water to go. It can't drain correctly so it just flows through & stays around long enough to cause damage etc. I believe that theory 99% of it.

Is the hurricane a result of global warming? No.
Is the intensity a result of it? Most likely. Warm ocean water is where hurricanes get their power, and it has gotten a degree (not sure of exact number) warmer over the past few years. May not seem like a lot, but think of how much energy it takes to warm most of a planet up by 1 degree.
