I was able to be one of the few that could be out from the beginning of all this and I thank God I haven't gotten sick cause I have not wore a mask at all; been with my family and all got tested 2 times with negative results. No, not especially, and even though the death rate IS high from Covid deaths, it's about 1% of the overall population. Many of those likely had other underlying or contributing health factors. Diabetes, COPD, Heart Disease, and other conditions. I just use my mask, social distance whenever going out (RARELY) and wash my hands/hand sanitizer.
