Yes and no. What the hell is "age appropriate sex education" for a kindergartener or child in early to mid elementary school!? It is not age appropriate at that time. However as children begin puberty and enter adolescence sex education is vital both for the individual and the community at large. I believe "comprehensive" is the key word here as well. Well thank goodness 83% believe in proper education1 I think Tracey is thinking of abstinence-only education, which is the most common form of sex education in North America. There is still a long way to go in the US however at least Canada has improved in the last 20 years since was in school.

There has been sex education since I was in school, I'm 54! Not seeing a decrease in the number of young girls getting pregnant. The problem obviously isn't solved through education.

Then you are not getting the right education. You are thinking of an outdated education. I've seen the videos they played back then. They are a joke. And since 1980 all they teach is abstinence. Education would work if the correct information was being given...

Babies having babies. Obviously parents are not educating their children, so unfortunately the schools have to step up. Age appropriate, of course.

Yes I believe someone must help our children with this important information and if the parents will not/cannot, then we have no choice but to get involved. Far too many children are abused and even more are having children far too young to understand effecting parenting. Let's face it, we all need to learn new things at any age.
